VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

Ask any volunteer, and they will tell you that the greatest benefit received is the reward of helping friends, family and community members during times of greatest need. Camaraderie, honor, satisfaction, serving others for the greater good; Emergency Services is truly all about taking care of our own.
Carroll County is proud to have 3 Volunteer Fire and 2 Volunteer Rescue Agencies with well over 100 volunteers committed to serving our communities, our neighbors, our friends.

The County provides volunteers with:
• Workers’ Compensation Insurance
• Accident Insurance
• Coverage Under the Virginia Line of Duty Act
• Free Single Membership at the Carroll Wellness Center
• Waiver of the Vehicle License Fee for Personal Vehicle used for Volunteer Response
• Funding for Individual Volunteer Fire and Rescue Agencies

Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians in Carroll County also receive Free Training to perform at their highest level of service.
